The Treasurer ensures the accounts of the Association are maintained, to allow for transparency and good governance of the KCACR and of the Association’s charity, the Bell Restoration Fund (BRF).

The General Secretary provides secretarial / administrative support for the Chairman and General Committee, particularly with regards to quarterly meetings and the AGM.

 


Safeguarding Officer: Emma Jarvis

Role description

The Safeguarding Officer takes the lead on ensuring the Association is upholding its responsibilities to protect vulnerable individuals (children, young people and vulnerable adults) from harm, neglect or abuse. While safeguarding is everyone’s responsibility within the Association, the Safeguarding Officer’s role is to keep the General Committee aware of the requirements of the Association.

Training Officer: Susan Bassett

The Training Officer takes the lead on establishing and furthering training across the county.

 

 


Youth Officer: Jennifer Thomas

Role description

 

The Youth Officer fosters and encourages ringing amongst the junior members of the Association in an enjoyable and safe atmosphere, and promotes an awareness of youth ringing throughout the Association. The role aims to give opportunities to young ringers both to consolidate and to extend their ringing abilities and to enable the development of leadership skills.

Bell Restoration Officer: Brian Butcher

Role description

The Bell Restoration Officer oversees the distribution of funds from the Bell Restoration Fund towards bell and tower restoration, receives applications for funding towards such works, and advises the committee on these.

District Representatives

Role Description

 

 

The District Representatives attend District Committee Meetings and other District events in order to keep abreast of the activity of the District, and support the overall work of the Committee and its Officers. They attend the Association’s quarterly General Committee meetings, contributing to the overall work of the General Committee and representing the interests of the District. They act as liaison with the General Committee, help with the organisation of any County events held in the District, and report to the District Committee within 7 days on the proceedings of County Committee meetings.


Health & Safety Officer: Becky Winter

While health and safety is everyone’s responsibility within the Association – from tower captains to members – and much of health and safety is the responsibility of the churches and towers where members ring, the Health and Safety Officer keeps the General Committee aware of the requirements of the Association, takes the lead on ensuring the Association is upholding its responsibilities, and advises members and towers who have health and safety queries.

The Handbook Editor compiles, collates and edits the contents of the Association’s annual handbook, and arranges for its printing and distribution.

The KCACR representatives to the Central Council of Church Bell Ringers (CCCBR) promote the work of the CCCBR to the KCACR and its membership by providing updates on the work of their workgroups, services and products. They also represent the KCACR’s interests at CCCBR meetings.


Publicity Officer: Vacant

Role description

 

The Publicity Officer promotes the KCACR to the public (external audiences) using various media (including via social media, KCACR website, traditional media/press) with the aim of creating a positive public image of the art of bellringing, with the goal of encouraging members of the public to take up bellringing.
