The Kent County Association of Change Ringers, which oversees bellringing in Kent, is hosting a Ringing Discovery Day on Saturday 2 August, at St Margaret’s Church, Rochester from 10am to 4pm.
Members of the public are invited to drop in to experience the thrill of pulling the ropes, learn about the history of bellringing, get a taste of the techniques and meet the passionate ringers who keep this art alive in action.
Bellringing is a great way to make new friends, get involved in your community, and to stay active at any age.
The sound of church bells is a cherished part of our community’s fabric: now you can meet the people behind the peals, and see if bellringing if something you might enjoy too. There’s no experience needed – just bring your curiosity and enthusiasm! Bellringing is suitable for all ages and for people of all faiths or none.
