Safeguarding Training

Training for Tower Captains.  We have arranged two C2 courses for Tower Captains and other lead ringers These are bespoke courses run by Greg Barry, Rochester Diocese Safeguarding Trainer, in cooperation with KCACR, tailored to cover the ringing situation. All those attending will be Tower Captains, Vice Captains and trainers – i.e. those who are required to have a clear DBNS check. Ringers from any part of Kent may apply to attend, i.e. from Dioceses other than Rochester. The first course has been delivered, at Hoo St Werburgh on 1st October. The next course is at Lamberhurst on Saturday 1 December 10am – 1pm. There are a few remaining places.

Please contact David Grimwood, KCACR Training Officer for more details and to apply.

We hope to arrange further “ringer only” courses. Meanwhile Tower Captains can attend C2 courses via their parish or by application through the Safeguarding section of their Diocesan website.

Training for all ringers. Any ringer wishing to improve his or her knowledge of safeguarding is encouraged to complete the online courses C0 and C1. Access to these is via the Safeguarding Training section in your Diocesan website.

Please note that it is not the policy of any of our Dioceses to require ringers to undertake this except for Tower Captains as a preparation for undertaking C2. Would Tower Captains please contact me for advice should a PCC Safeguarding Officer suggest all ringers undertake one of these courses.
