Teaching Bell Handling course (ART M1) at All Saints’, Edmonton, London N9 – Saturday 23rd June 2018

On the 23rd June, Pip Penney will be tutoring the ART Module 1 course in Teaching Bell Handling at All Saints’ Edmonton Green, North London.

The day course is the first  stage in the ART Training Scheme and focuses on teaching bell handling by breaking the process down into small, manageable steps, starting with the bell in the ‘down’ position. The course itself will be a mixture of practical work in the tower and some theory presentations as Pip explains how a modern understanding of teaching a physical action can be applied to ringing so that new ringers gain confidence as their skills develop in a safe, progressive way. After the day course, delegates will be given access to the Learning the Ropes scheme Further details of the course can be found here

An ART M1 course is suitable for both new and experienced teachers who wish to develop their teaching skills. Ideally, new teachers will work alongside an existing teacher who can support them in a mentoring role as they begin teaching.

All Saints’ Edmonton is approximately 300 metres from Edmonton Green station and if arriving by car, there is good connectivity to both the A406 and the M25.

Course fees are £20, payable to ART and spaces can be requested using the online booking form here

Course fees may be subsidised from the KCACR Training Fund – if you are interested, please contact the Training Officer David Grimwood – training@kcacr.org.uk
