We had another great session with Kent MINI-Ringers this morning woth 7 primary school children, 3 teenage helpers and various parents and helpers. Lucy came to supervise efforts on handbells and other activities were on offer to occupy the youngsters when they weren’t on the end of a rope.
We also had 3 spectators who had “googled” bellringing and found us. One family spends a lot of time in Ypres. Lots of rounds, a few call changes, a little “placemaking” (first time for E.) Putting strokes together first time for K (it is interesting teaching ringing to someone with little English!). Spectators each had a little turn at trying out backstrokes and a whole gaggle of youngsters went up to see the bells…quite a feat in the tiny bell chamber at Seal St Lawrence!. Very many thanks to everyone who came to help….. (oh yes…. flapjack, carrot cake and bell cookies disappeared pretty rapidly!)🔔🔔🔔
