A Canterbury District Surprise Major Practice will be taking place on Saturday 26-Apr-2025 from 19:30-21:00 at Margate. Please let the District Ringing Masters know by email (canterburyringingmaster@
The practices are for all levels of Surprise Major experience and those looking to extend from Surprise Minor ringing (please do get in touch if you need help).
The county 8-bell competition test piece is Double Norwich Court Bob Major and we would also like to include this in the practice. Please let us know if you are able to come prepared to ring a touch of this (we might need extras to help).
Those who have been ringing Cambridge, Yorkshire and Lincolnshire at previous practices should have the opportunity to ring touches of these, and we hope that we will have enough for both Superlative and Rutland, together with some splicing of these methods. For those already experienced with these methods we suggest Bristol but we will be very dependent on getting enough ringers, we will also consider requests on the evening.
NOTE: In January we were able to ring Cambridge, Yorkshire, Lincolnshire, Superlative, Pudsey, Bristol [3 leads], and 4-spliced CYNS.
We will be asking each attendee to make a £1 tower donation.
