There will be a Rochester District Training event on Sat 31st May 2025 from 2 – 5 pm at Frinsted, ME9 0TQ. This will focus on conducting and coursing orders with theory and practical sessions (see details and requirements below).
We would like learners to sign up for this training in advance (maximum of 6). If you are interested in this course or have any questions please email your district secretary.
Conducting and Coursing Orders
Outline:
- What is conducting?
- What is coursing order and how does it help?
- How do calls affect the coursing order?
- Are there exceptions to the rules?
- Are there other ways to check the composition is correct?
Aims:
- To understand the responsibility of the conductor
- To explain the terminology that is used
- To understand how touches are written out
- To prepare and practice calling simple touches
- To be able to understand and use coursing order
The workshop will comprise of two theory sessions:
- Terminology, responsibilities & a simple touch
- Coursing order
And two practical sessions:
- Calling Bob Minor
- Conducting using the coursing order
Please ensure that you know Plain Bob Doubles and Plain Bob Minor. It would also be useful to know St Simon’s Bob Doubles and St Clement’s College Bob Minor.
Please bring paper (squared/graph paper if possible) and pen/pencil.
