On Saturday 16th July, we are having a combined District Practice and Training event at Meopham (8). In a slight change to the format of the District Practice, we are going to start offering ‘special methods’ – this will be one or two methods that we’d like to aim to ring during the practice. The idea is that it will give people something to learn/aim for ahead of the practice and hopefully help advance people who don’t get the opportunity to ring them at their home tower. We’ll see how it goes!
The format of the day on 16th July will be as follows:
10am – 12.30pm
District Practice (Coffee break at 11am) – special method is Little Bob Major, plus usual repertoire to include rounds, call changes, plain hunt, Plain Bob & Grandsire (on 7 & 8 bells).
12.30pm – 1.30pm
Bring and Share Lunch – if you would like to stay for lunch, please bring along something to share with everyone to enable us to create a buffet-style meal for everyone there. If you plan to do this, please let me know and we can make sure we don’t end up with 20 plates of sausage rolls 😉
1.30pm – 4.00pm
Training Session (Coffee break at 2.30pm) – ‘Moving on to Triples and Major’ – The purpose of this training is to provide support for ringers moving from doubles and minor method ringing onto triples and major. This will be for standard methods of Plain Bob, Grandsire, and Stedman. This is open to members of the KCACR only. Please let either myself () or Helen Webb () know if you will be taking part, and confirm whether you will be attending as a learner or as a supporting ringer. The cost of this training session will be £5 per learner, payable on the day.
Please do encourage your ringers to come along to all or part of this day and help to make is as successful as possible.
Any questions, please contact either myself or Helen.
