At the March 2014 bye meeting at Ospringe the District received the sad news that ringing has ceased at St Peter’s due to the tower having become unsafe. It was reported that over time the tower had become increasingly structurally unsound, with débris often falling from above while the bells were ringing. With any luck the tower can be repaired and ringing resumed, but it could be as long as two years before work is completed.
