I have just picked up this news story about a lady at Bathampton in Somerset getting caught up in a bell rope. She was a ringer, albeit apparently not very experienced.
This story is all over the national press, and is not the best advertisement for ringing – hence I thought this would be a good opportunity to remind all Rochester District members that safety is of the utmost importance in the tower. This type of thing is a very rare occurrence, but please all do take care!
