Following the rule changes that were agreed at the AGM on 22nd April, there are no longer any concessionary rates for members in full time education who are over 18 years old, nor for members aged 65-80 years old – this includes members over 65 years old with 25 years continuous membership who had previously been given free membership. In addition the basic subscription rate will increase from January 1st 2020.
To clarify exactly what is changing & when the different elements come into effect:
- Life Membership
Effective immediately (as of the end of the AGM on 22nd April), there is no longer an option to purchase Life Membership of the Association. Existing Life Members will continue to be so, but no new Life Members will be accepted going forward. Please ensure all of your ringers are aware of this and do not try to purchase Life Membership in future. - Senior Membership (over 65 years old)
Effective immediately all new members between the ages of 18 and 80 years old elected to the Association after the AGM on 22nd April must pay the full adult rate (currently £10, or £5 for half-year membership if elected after July 1st). The 50% rate for members over 65 years old has been discontinued.New members elected who are 80 years old or older are entitled to free membership
- Subscription availability & rate changes
Effective from 1st January 2020, only the following subscriptions (and updated rates) will be available:- Adult practising members
The annual subscription for all Adult practising members from 18 – 80 years old will increase from £10 to £15 - Junior members
Members under 18 years old will pay 50% of the Adult subscription (£7.50) - Over 80s
Members over 80 years old are be entitled to free membership - Non-resident life membership
This may be purchased as before for a one-off payment of 75% of the Adult subscription i.e. £11.25 - Associate membership
An annual donation / subscription of no less than £1
- Adult practising members
