****Update – only 9 tickets left for the foundry tour****
Following on from the previous notice on the website back in September, I am pleased to confirm that we will be heading into London on Saturday 20th May 2017.
Slightly different to the usual outing, the morning (10am to 11.30am) will include a tour of Whitechapel Bell Foundry. It’s an opportunity to see what goes on in a working foundry, as well as see the museum displays and visit the shop. Tickets are £15 per person (over 14 years old only) but numbers limited – there are only a total of 24 available (some of which have already gone), so if you would like to join the tour please let me know ASAP to secure your ticket.
Even if you don’t get a ticket for the foundry tour, there will also be an afternoon itinerary of ringing (all towers are confirmed) & lunch as follows:
12.00 – 12.45 – Spitalfields (8)
13.00 – 14.15 – Lunch @ The Hoop & Grapes (TBC)
14.30 – 15.15 – St. Olave, Hart Street (8)
15.45 – 16.30 – St. James, Garlickhythe (8) (Royal Jubilee Bells)
17.00 – 17.45 – St. Clement Danes (10)
All travel to/from London will be by public transport and between towers on foot. Tower fees will be £2 per person per tower, so a total of £8 for all 4 towers. If you would like to attend, either both the foundry and towers or just the towers, please let me know.
More details will follow nearer the time.
