We are thrilled and humbled to have been given these 20 beautiful handbells in memory of Tom Barlow, who was such a good friend and supporter to the Kent Young Ringers. The first time I properly met Tom was when he and Jacqui were overseeing the refreshments at the very first Young Ringers’ Striking Contest in Chalk.
Young ringers enjoyed trying out the bells fter the beautiful service of blessing at St Michael & All Angels, Maidstone on Sunday 23rd January. We have subsequently put the bells to good use already at Brasted, Shorne and St Peter in Thanet and are looking forward to ringing our first quarter peal on the bells before too long.
