A lovely summer’s day at Quex: sunshine, 17 under 21’s ( and a few “oldies”), ringing, ball games and fun, sausages and burgers grilled to perfection by our one and only Mike Little and Douglas Neve( thank you, both).
We converged on the field shortly after 1pm to be greeted and welcomed by Mike Little and also Susan Johnson of the Powell Cotton Family. A climb up to the top of the tower to see the views was next on the agenda for many and then the important matters of the day could be attended to: food and ringing! Relaxing in the shade, chatting and friendly ball throwing were also on offer.
Ringing included lots of Rounds and Call Changes on 12, some Plain Hunt on various numbers, Grandsire Minimus on the front four, Grandsire Triples, Cambridge Minor, Little Bob Major and to round it off: 120 of Plain Bob Doubles( back 6) and Grandsire Doubles(front 6) rung simultaneously. (Dan met a kindred spirit in Mike!!)
[the 5 youngest had left for other meetings by the time this photo was taken]
Thanks to everyone for a great afternoon
