A brief report of the District Practice at Minster on Saturday 18th February from Helen Webb, Ringing Master:
“We had about a dozen people at the practice on Saturday including four people from Minster. We rang rounds and call changes, touches of Grandsire and Plain Bob and plain courses of Stedman. The local tower captain had put an item in the local paper prior to the event, for recruitment, inviting people to come to our practice. One local lady came and she had a couple of goes – she was rather good actually and we made encouraging noises so hopefully she’ll take it up. Overall I think most people who attended got something out of the morning, so I would consider it a success”.
The next District Practice is at Milton-next-Gravesend on Saturday 17th March – why not make the effort and head along, I’m sure we can do better on attendance next time! Remember, ringers of all abilities are welcome at these events – whether you’re still in the early stages and ringing rounds & call changes, are starting with plain hunting or basic method ringing or are more experienced – you’ll be given an opportunity to ring – but the more people who attend, the more beneficial it is for everyone so put the date in your diary now! 🙂
