This year we were kindly invited by Phil and Liz Barnes to ring on the Campanile at Piltdown House and partake of a BBQ in the garden.  We started with ringing on the light 6 at Kemsing where we welcomed 3 “newies” and indulged in a range of ringing from Call Changes to Stedman and mixed Doubles. We moved on to the much heavier 8 at Wrotham where Dan J arrived after a car breakdown just in time to round off the Ringing with an “over 18’s apart from Jamie” touch of Stedman Triples. 5 mins later we poured into the garden of Piltdown House to be refreshed and revived by a BBQ very professionally manned by our KCACR Chair. Everyone tried their hand at ringing on the Campanile and various touches rang out from  the garage, including Original, but despite our best efforts, we didn’t quite manage a whole quarter peal! Those present who were in the RWNYC Trophy-winning team were thanked again and presentations were made to Dan and Steph, as age now requires them to move on from participating in this contest.  (This was a slightly quieter gathering than usual as a few key figures were otherwise engaged!!) The afternoon was rounded off with a QP of P B Minor at nearby Ightham, first inside for Sam and first for Kent Young Ringers for Callum. Huge thanks to Dan for calling this before trying (unsuccessfully?) to limp home in his Mini..

This is a rather belated report, but comes with our thanks to Daniel for being Team Captain over the last few years and our very best wishes to him as he takes off for university.
