Due to the latest measures put in place yesterday by the government to combat the Coronovirus pandemic all district ringing events and meetings organised by the District Committee are now cancelled until further notice including the District Practice at Willesborough this Thursday evening (19 March) and the Learners’ Practice at Pluckley this coming Saturday (21 March). Several towers have already suspended ringing – Hythe, Saltwood, Folkestone , Tenterden, Lydd and Wittersham have gone down this route already. The CCCBR has issued recommendations on their website (cccbr.org.uk). Please take a look at this if you haven’t already done so. The first paragraph states:
“New updates on the Coronavirus have been issued by the UK government today, which include avoiding any “non-essential” travel and contact with others and avoiding pubs, clubs theatres and social gatherings. If you haven’t already decided to cancel ringing activities, it seems that now is the time to do so”
Please consider carefully all the advice being given.
