Thanks to those who attended our business meeting at Tenterden last month – we had 32 ringers present! It was great to see so many people. The minutes from the meeting are here for adoption at the ADM in October.

Other district updates:

Next District Meeting: As a reminder there is no district meeting this month. Our next meeting will be at St Mary the Virgin, Rolvenden (TN17 4ND) on the 16th of September 2023, 10:30 – 12:30. This will be a practice meeting only.

KCACR 6-Bell Striking Competition: This will be held at St Mary Magdalene, Monckton (CT12 4JR) on the 30th of September 2023. There are two competitions on the day (see below). The rules can be found at Microsoft Word – KCACR Rules for Association 6 bell competitions 2023.docx. Entries should be sent to the chairman [] by the 30th of August.

  • Call Change Competition [Morning]: The rules for the call change competition have been relaxed this year and it is now a more ‘open’ competition. Information on the rules can be found in the link above.
  • Method Ringing Competition [Afternoon]: The rules for this competition are unchanged.

Safeguarding: Finally, an update on safeguarding. This was discussed again at the last committee meeting. The KCACR Chairman and Safeguarding Officer are continuing to liaise with the Diocesan Safeguarding Teams in an effort to gain improvements in the Leadership and safeguarding training and make it more relevant to ringers. However, one update that is useful to point out:

  • Basic Awareness Course: This can be delivered in person by the parish safeguarding officers and Incumbents. Note: as with all things safeguarding, this is by agreement at the parish level.
