On Saturday, 18th April at Queenborough we had the best attended district call change and striking competitions for many years. Six towers, Eastchurch, Meopham, Bobbing, Cobham, Frindsbury and St Margaret’s Rochester entered the call change competition, and Meopham, Eastchurch and Bobbing the striking competition.

We would like to thank our judges, Alex Britton and Peter Harrison who positioned themselves in a discrete location in the warm spring afternoon sunshine prior to the draw and spent over two hours listening to our ringing.

Following the competitions we enjoyed a splendid tea provided by the Queenborough ringers, and our thanks go to Sonia Gowdy and Val Reckless and the band for the organizing the afternoon. Congratulations this year go to Bobbing, who won not only the call change but also the striking competition.

It was very good to see so many ringers at the event, so well done everybody for taking part and making it a most enjoyable afternoon.
