John Westacott had been at the Hospice in the Weald for the past week or so and died peacefully there on Tuesday 4th December.
He was one of the original band at Chevening formed when the bells were installed in 1999 and was taught to ring at Hadlow.
His funeral will be at St Botolph’s Church Thursday 20th December at 11am with Lychgate Committal followed by refreshments at 12:15pm in the Brew House, Chevening House.
