An array of boxes littered the Ringing room! We were made so welcome by Susan Clements for the inaugural session of Kent MINI-Ringers. 9 enthusiastic youngsters attended; all rang individually, then one at a time to Rounds and Call Changes on 6 bells with 5 lovely “oldies” from the Kent Young Ringers. Then 2 at a time, or more, MINIs rang on 6 and then on 8 bells. 2 excitedly rang on open bells for the first time. A few were also able to make places competently and 1 rang the treble very confidently.
There was no time to be “bored” while not ringing; a quiz was on offer; there were bell shapes to decorate, cut out and bring next time as theory aids, and of course no youngsters’ session would be complete without cake.. cupcakes numbered 1 – 8 and bell-shaped shortbread biscuits to decorate before consuming!
