Hello all,
I hope you are well. I’m getting in contact to advertise the next Lewisham district training session, taking place on Saturday 27th February from 1000-1130.
This will be another practical handbell tutorial session, following the popular sessions in November and January, using Ringing Room, which will build on the ideas discussed in the introduction to handbell ringing session which I delivered in April last year. See: https://youtu.be/q1-nEcEwjlU. After a brief recap of some handbell theory and a quick introduction to Ringing Room, we will split into Zoom breakout rooms and several ‘Ringing Rooms’ to get some practical experience! Each group will be assisted by some friendly expert handbell helpers.
We are likely to have three different breakout groups, largely focusing on 6-bell ringing:
1) Plain hunt Minor – for handbell beginners – please ensure you watch the introductory video at the  youtube link above, prior to the session.
2) Moving into Plain Bob Minor – for those who can ring plain hunt on 6 fairly confidently on 1-2 and possibly other pairs. The second part of the April training session recording covers some of the principles behind this.
3) Plain Bob and beyond – touches of Plain Bob Minor, plus other methods on 6 or 8 on request.
When signing up for the course, please indicate which group you would like to join. Demand is likely to be high, so do please sign up quickly to secure your place on the course. If you have attended one of these sessions before, you are of course very welcome to sign up again!
If you are interested in being a helper for the session, please drop me an email.
Thanks, and best wishes,
Tom
