Read more…"/> Salient Point from recent General Committee Meeting – Kent County Association of Change Ringers

The following is an abbreviated summary of the salient points of the meeting held on 27th February:

  • The vacant CC Representative position for the remainder of this triennium will be filled at the AGM in March
  • The accounts for 2013, 2014 and 2015 are all complete and going to be audited, hopefully in time for the handbook & AGM
  • The handbook is ready to be printed and will be delivered on time to the AGM in March
  • An application for a grant of £1,000 from the Training Fund from the Rochester District was discussed and approved
  • New storage facilities for the bell restoration equipment and trailer need to be sought in the near future owing to Revd David Cawley’s retirement later this year
  • All arrangements for the upcoming AGM in March are in hand and details are available on the website
  • At the AGM in March we will still be seeking a new Training Officer, Publicity Officer and at least 1 new Central Council Rep for the next triennium
  • A post of Youth Officer will be made available at this year’s AGM, and potential candidates have already been identified
  • It was agreed that people would be invited at the AGM and via other means to become part of a group to be charged with running the KCACR Mobile Ring project
  • The County 8-bell Striking Competition 2016 will be held on Saturday 2nd July, 9.45am draw, in the Canterbury District.  Method will be Grandsire Triples, touch to be decided by Daniel Brady
  • It was agreed that, in memory of Frank Lewis, the Association would look to contribute towards a peal board/plaque for Brasted and also setup a digital archive named after him
  • The County 6-bell Striking Competition 2016 will be held on Saturday 24th September, 9.45am draw, in the Lewisham District.  Tower TBC.
  • The County Youth Striking Competition 2016 will be held on Saturday 22nd October.  Tower TBC
  • The upcoming dates of the General Committee meetings in 2016 are 23rd April, 27th August and 26th November
