After discussion with ringers, incumbents and their PCCs, it has been decided that:
Instead of having two practices a week, on Wednesday at Boughton Monchelsea and on Friday at either Hunton or Linton, to have just one practice each week, open to all ringers from Boughton Monchelsea, East Farleigh, Hunton, Linton, Loose and any visitors. The practice will be held on the same night each week, at the same time each week, but will be held at a different tower each week, circulating around all of the towers except Loose. Ringing for services on Sunday would remain as it currently stands in each tower.
The practices will be held on a Wednesday, from 7pm to 9pm, with the majority of the ringing at 7pm to concentrate on bell handling, rounds and call changes, then progressing to practising methods after 7.30pm.
Starting from December, they will be held at Hunton on the first Wednesday of the month, at Linton on the second, at East Farleigh on the third and at Boughton Monchelsea on the fourth. The group of ringers will be known as ‘The Greensand Ringers’ and we are in the process of setting up a website so that visitors can check details of practice nights.
