A message from District Ringing Masters Emma Tamkin and Catherine Heathcote.
“We have drawn up a calendar of events for Tonbridge District to take us up to Christmas, this will be circulated soon. The first of these events is a
District Practice – Speldhurst, Saturday 6th August 10am – 12pm.
This practice is open to all District Members: new, young, old, experienced, just beginning, and especially those feeling rusty after the pandemic lay-off and not very confident! We plan to ring mostly rounds and call changes to welcome our newest and least experienced ringers to the delights (and completely non-threatening nature) of District Practices, and also to encourage those of you who feel rusty and have lost your confidence after two years of hardly any ringing. Speldhurst bells are lovely and easy to handle. The District Committee and experienced supporters will be there to welcome you, stand behind you – and catch your sally too if you don’t – what’s not to like? Come and join us in the George and Dragon afterwards for some ‘après clank’. Tower Captains please encourage your not-so-experienced ringers to come along even if you can’t, they will be looked after.”
