David Webzell, tower captain at St George, Gravesend, asked for a band to ring at St Georges, Gravesend on Thursday 25th March.

This was the first time the bells had been rung for about 18 months, since the completion of the repairs to the tower.  The Vicar, Rev Canon Chris Stone had asked especially if the bells could be rung to mark the launch of The Friends of St Georges.

The new Patron of The Friends, Sir Robert Worcester (who is one of the Deputy Lieutenants of Kent) came up the tower and was very interested to see the bells being rung.

The band was made up of ringers from Meopham, Southfleet, Cobham and High Halstow.
