The Kent Young Ringers have been able to get together in groups of 6 (following all Covid guidance etc) for a few tower bell sessions and a couple of team practices for this year’s RWNYC in Worcester on 11th September. A good quarter peal was rung at West Malling on 17th July and earned a mention on “What’s Hot on Bellboard?” Amber Cusick and Laura Byrne coralled a team of 6 girls to ring a quarter peal at Westerham on 24th July, and were consequently highlighted in Image of the Week in the Ringing World published on 30th July.

Now we are looking forward to an afternoon at Quex on Saturday 21st August from 2pm with ringing on this unique ring of bells(maybe a  quarter peal or two??), handbells, Maypole bells, games and a BBQ.

Rebecca Steele will be running one of her 7 half marathons that day (fundraising for the Royal British Legion) ending up at Quex Park.

You may know some non-ringing youngsters who may be interested in seeing what we do and having a go on the Maypole Bells …… do give them my contact details (email: / text: 07908413868) and send them our way! (This would be the perfect  afternoon.)
