Exams are over…. so several of Kent’s young ringers have been out and about ringing quarter peals this summer (50 in total in Kent) (and 13 out of County) and peals (x4)

Watch these youngsters!

Adam Moore, Barnaby Larter and Daniel Jarvis rang in PB Minor at Nettlestead on 28th June

Adam called his first  P B Minimus with 12 blows of Cheeky Little at Monkton on 4th July

Barnaby rang in a peal of 7-spliced Surprise Minor at Bekesbourne on 5th July and again at Petham on 9th July

Adam and Barnaby rang in Grandsire Triples at Whitstable on 14th July

Adam then called his first quarter of Doubles (Stedman, Reverse Canterbury and Plain Bob)at Selling on 16th July (Brother Simon rang the tenor) Barnaby rang, too.

Barnaby Larter rang his first peal of Cambridge S Major on 17th July at East Farleigh

Barnaby called P B Minor on 19th July at East Peckham. Dan Jarvis rang in this.

Dan Jarvis rang in a peal of Pudsey S Major on 21st July (first blows in method) at Chelsfield

A dash around London on a VERY hot Monday 23rd July resulted in 4 quarters being scored by Dan, Barnaby, Adam, Alexander Runting, Jamie Austin and Laura Byrne:

Erin, Grandsire and Stedman Doubles at Wood Green

St Clement’s B Minor at Islington

P B Minor at Kilburn ( Dan’s 50th this year and 50th as conductor)

Grandsire Doubles at Colliers Wood in the cool of the evening (27 degrees outside!!)

This was followed 2 weeks later on Monday 6th August in the Kent Countryside (with a couple of “young-@-hearts” helping out)

P B Minor at Downe ( Dan, Jamie, Barnaby, Adam)

1440 Grandsire Minor at Brasted (1st Minor for Amber Cusick and first Grandsire Minor for whole KYR band; Alexander rang in this)

Spliced Plain & Little Bob Minor at Sundridge (1st spliced Minor for Jamie Austin, Adam Moore, Alexander Runting and Barnaby Larter)

Barnaby rang  in Mixed Doubles at Tarrant Keyneston, Dorset and then his

first quarter of Stedman Triples at Linton on July 24th (both qp’s to celebrate the Silver Wedding of his parents) Adam rang the tenor at Linton

Barnaby and Adam also rang P B Major at Selling on Tuesday 7th August; this was Adam’s first Major inside and Barnaby’s first Major as conductor

Stephanie and Alexander Runting rang in P B Triples on 4th August for the wedding of Tom and Becky Winter.

Amber Cusick rang in a quarter of Stedman, P B and Grandsire at Farnborough on 7th August and then in her first quarter of P B Triples at her home tower Westerham(rang the 2)

Adam and Dan rang in 4 more quarters on 8th August:

P B Minor at Lynsted; 5xDoubles at Newnham; Cambridge S Minor at Wormshill

Cambridge S Major at Sittingbourne (Adam’s 1st T B Major)

 

Adam, Dan and Barnaby have also rung several Handbell quarter peals: Various Minimus whenever they can! and P B Minor.

 

Steph Runting rang her first on 10:.treble to Grandsire Caters at St Clement Danes with the Lilliputters Guild. Alexander and Dan Jarvis also rang in this and then the three of them rang Pudsey Surprise Major at Sevenoaks, conducted by Dan (1st Pudsey for Alexander, and 1st Treble Bob Major for Steph(?)

A very determined Amber Cusick  was not to be put off ringing by tendonitis in her left hand, so rang a single-handed quarter on the treble at Farnborough: 5 x Doubles, including Stedman.
Steph and Alexander rang Grandsire Minor, 5x Mixed Doubles and Plain Bob Doubles at Sidcup. Steph rang her first Cambridge Minor inside. The Runting duo chalked up another Quarter of Grandsire Triples with the Lilliputters at Burgess Hill in W Sussex.
Barnaby and Adam rang in P B Doubles at Sheldwich.

Adam rang in Grandsire Triples at Borden, being his 50th QP

and called P B Minimus at Faversham!
Barnaby and Dan (C) rang in Cambridge S Minor at East Peckham.

Barnaby scored his 1st qp Bristol S Major at Maidstone.

Dan rang in Durham S Minor at Tonbridge.
The third Quarter Peal day of the summer holidays (3rd Sept) resulted in 4 quarter peals: Grandsire/P B and Little Bob Minor at Hernhill,

Plain Bob Triples at Boughton under Blean,

11x Doubles at Sheldwich (1st 11 methods for Adam,and Jamie)

Cambridge S Minor at Whitstable.(1st Surprise Minor inside for Adam) (A lovely day out for Barnaby, Adam, Dan, Jamie, Matt Jerome, Charles Blümmers and Rebecca Hall….and just 1 “young@heart!)

Matt Jerome finished off the day with a quarter at Cobham to celebrate his forthcoming 20th birthday, along with others celebrating a “0” birthday.
Last day (for many) of the summer hols was rung out with Laura Byrne ringing in Norwich S Minor at Farnborough,

followed by Jamie Austin calling P B Minor to enable Amber Cusick to ring her second single-handed QP, this time ringing inside on the second.

Sam Chard (Sevenoaks) rang his 1st P B Doubles inside 16th September at Brasted, called by Jamie Austin with  Adam Moore

Laura Byrne achieved 3 more 1sts: Norwich S Minor 4th September at Farnborough;

Superlative S Major 16th September at St Mike’s Maidstone and

Variable Hunt Grandsire Triples on 16th September at Staplehurst 

Dan rang in Bourne S Minor and

Grandsire Triples, both at St Mike’s Maidstone

Steph, Alexander and Jamie rang in Grandsire Caters at Staplehurst (1st inside G Caters for Jamie)

Dan called P B Minor at East Peckham and then went off to ring 5 in Oxfordshire

Barnaby started off his ringing career in Sheffield on the second day there(!) with a quarter peal of Superlative S Major(1st in method)
